Victoria faces off against South Australia in Melbourne.

The morning session witnessed a flurry of action, with no shortage of drama.

Victoria commenced the day’s play at 49/2, chasing a target of 157 for victory, but faced early setbacks.

They stumbled to 101 for 6 under the relentless bowling onslaught of Brendan Doggett, Nathan McAndrew, and Wes Agar.

However, Campbell Kellaway stood firm, crafting a gritty 35* from 101 deliveries, steering his team towards triumph alongside Sam Harper, who contributed 34 runs off 28 balls.

Despite the nail-biting three-wicket victory, Victoria captain Jake Lehmann criticized the pitch at the Junction Oval in Melbourne.

“In my opinion, the pitch on day one was quite horrendous,” Lehmann stated.

“But to navigate through those challenging conditions and post a competitive score reflects our team’s resilience and character.”

Initially, they seemed to be in control at 117 for 1.

However, the trio of Corey Rocchiccioli, Charles Stobo, and Joel Paris combined to claim five wickets, providing Western Australia with a glimmer of hope for a late turnaround.
