Mayank Agarwal, the captain of Karnataka, has been released from a hospital in Agartala where he was admitted after falling ill during a flight.

While departing for Delhi from Tripura’s capital on Tuesday (January 30), Agarwal consumed a beverage on the flight, leading to discomfort, a burning sensation in his throat, and vomiting. Subsequently, he was de-boarded and promptly taken to the hospital.

Raghuram Bhat, the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), assured on Tuesday that Mayank is now out of danger and is expected to be discharged the following day.

The most recent update indicates that Mayank has returned to Bengaluru and is seeking advice from local doctors.

Karnataka completed their Ranji Trophy Group C assignment against Tripura in Agartala and is scheduled to face Railways in Surat starting February 2. In Agarwal’s absence, Nikhil Jose, the vice-captain of the team, is likely to assume leadership responsibilities.
