In a match where victory seemed uncertain for India, with the team struggling at 32/4 while chasing 245 against quasi hosts South Africa, a remarkable turnaround was sparked by the magical 171-run partnership between captain Uday Saharan (81) and Sachin Dhas (96).

This stand propelled the current defending champions to a stunning come-from-behind win by 2 wickets, securing their ninth final appearance and the fifth consecutive one.

India, opting to chase for the first time in the tournament, faced early setbacks with Adarsh Singh dismissed first-ball by an unplayable delivery from Kwena Maphaka.

Tristan Luus further compounded India’s troubles, claiming the wickets of Musheer Khan and Arshin Kulkarni.

Priyanshu Moliya’s departure left India reeling at 32/4, courtesy of Luus’ relentless bowling.

However, the drinks break proved to be a turning point for India, as they emerged revitalized.

The monumental partnership between Dhas and Saharan, the highest for the fifth wicket in U19 World Cup history, shifted the momentum in India’s favor.

While Dhas showcased aggression with 11 fours and 1 six, Saharan played the anchor’s role before a dramatic run out halted his innings.

Despite the late flurry of wickets, India held their nerve, with Raj Limbani’s crucial boundary and a glorious cover drive sealing the victory.

Reflecting on the match, Saharan credited his approach to his father’s style of play, emphasizing patience and resilience.

Meanwhile, Limbani’s early strikes, coupled with Musheer Khan’s crucial breakthroughs, contained South Africa’s batting lineup.

Although Luus and Juan James mounted a late challenge, India’s discipline in the middle overs ultimately proved decisive.

While the victory was hard-fought, India now awaits the winner of the Australia vs Pakistan semi-final for the title clash.
