KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in India’s squad for the final three Tests against England, having recovered from quadriceps and hamstring injuries respectively that kept them out of the Test in Visakhapatnam.

However, the BCCI has clarified that their participation will be contingent upon clearance from the medical team.

Their return bolsters an Indian side grappling with the absence of several key players.

Notably, fast-bowling stalwart Mohammed Shami remains sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained at the end of last year’s World Cup campaign.

Additionally, former captain Virat Kohli will be absent from the series due to a family emergency.

Another significant absence is Shreyas Iyer, who experienced back stiffness during the second Test and has been ruled out of the remainder of the series due to recurring back issues over the past year.

Consequently, Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan retain their spots in the middle order.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, rested from the second Test in Visakhapatnam, has been included in the squad.

Mukesh Kumar retains his place, while Avesh Khan has been replaced by Akash Deep by the selection committee.

Following Jadeja’s return, Saurabh Kumar has been released from the squad.

The third Test of the series, currently tied at 1-1, is scheduled to commence on February 15 in Rajkot.

India squad for the final three Tests:

Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep
