BETH MOONEY RETURNS AS CAPTAIN OF THE GUJARAT GIANTS

Australia batter Beth Mooney has been reappointed as the captain of Gujarat Giants ahead of the second season of the Women’s Premier League, commencing on February 23.

Giants, under the guidance of new head coach Michael Klinger, have named Sneh Rana as Mooney’s deputy.

Rana previously led the side in the inaugural season last year in Mooney’s absence due to injury after the first game.

“I am thrilled to return to lead Gujarat Giants and appreciate the team’s confidence in me.

We have an exceptional squad, and I am confident that we will perform well.

It’s exciting that the WPL will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi this season, introducing new venues to the tournament,” Mooney expressed.

“The upcoming season of WPL promises to be another celebration of cricket.

Beth’s return as captain is fantastic news, and I am committed to supporting her in every way possible.

With a well-balanced squad, we are in a strong position as a team,” Rana commented.

Gujarat Giants will kick off their campaign at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru against Mumbai Indians on February 25.
