THE CLASH BETWEEN KARNATAKA AND TAMIL NADU CONCLUDES IN A GRIPPING DRAW

Shankar’s resilient 60 in the fourth innings thwarted Karnataka’s bid for an outright victory.

GROUP A

Ankit Bawne’s valiant 84 proved futile as Aditya Thakare’s five-wicket haul dismantled Maharashtra for 371 runs in the second innings.

Pursuing a mere 28 runs for victory, Vidarbha comfortably achieved the target with all ten wickets intact, propelling them to the summit of the Group A points table.

In another match, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja’s seven-wicket haul decimated Rajasthan for a paltry 87 in their run-chase, handing Saurashtra a commanding 218-run triumph.

Earlier, Aarpit Vasavada’s unbeaten 74 guided the visitors to a declaration at 234 for 6.

This resounding victory has propelled Saurashtra to the third position on the points table, level on points with Services.

GROUP B

Piyush Singh’s maiden first-class century ended in disappointment as Bihar succumbed to a total of 292 in the second innings, courtesy of Rahul Singh’s five-wicket haul.

Despite Parvej Musaraf’s unbeaten 52, Assam could only manage to score one wicket in their pursuit of 100 for victory, missing out on a bonus point.

Nevertheless, securing their first win of the season has elevated them to the second-to-last position on the points table.

Although Ajay Mandal claimed a fifer, Mumbai successfully batted out the entirety of the final day’s play, led by Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten 56 – his first half-century of the season.

The match concluded in a draw, with Mumbai securing the first innings lead by a slim margin of one run, ensuring their place at the top of the points table.

Chhattisgarh, on the other hand, currently occupies the fifth position.

Despite half-centuries from Abhimanyu Easwaran and Shahbaz Ahmed, Bengal faltered and were bundled out for 339, leading to a substantial 109-run victory for Kerala.

Jalaj Saxena emerged as the star performer with the ball once again, claiming four wickets as Kerala soared to the third spot on the points table with their inaugural win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bengal finds themselves languishing in sixth place.

Shaikh Rasheed and Nitish Reddy’s half-centuries guided Andhra to a draw, securing a first-innings lead in Vizinagaram.

Despite Saurabh Kumar’s five-wicket haul, Andhra managed to amass 429 runs in the second innings, losing nine wickets in the process.

GROUP C

Arslan Khan’s second first-class century, complemented by half-centuries from Shivam Bhambri and Manan Vohra, enabled Chandigarh to mount a robust response with the bat in the second innings.

However, they couldn’t press for a win after conceding the first-innings lead, and the match against Tripura concluded in a draw with the hosts posting 359 for 3 in the second innings.

With the three points earned, Tripura has been elevated to the fifth spot on the points table, while Chandigarh has edged past Goa to secure the second-to-last position.

The enthralling encounter between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in Chennai ended in a draw, with just 17 runs needed and two wickets remaining.

Pradosh Paul (74), Baba Indrajith (98), and Vijay Shankar (60) crafted half-centuries as Tamil Nadu reached 338 for 8 before the captains agreed to call it a draw.

With this outcome, Karnataka has reinforced its position at the top of the table, while Tamil Nadu remains in second place.

Priyajitsing Jadeja clinched his second fifer of the match as Punjab was dismissed for 111 in the second innings, handing Gujarat a resounding 299-run victory.

This win propels Gujarat to the third spot on the points table with their third triumph of the season.

Akash Pandey delivered his career-best figures (9/71), the sixth-best in the history of the Ranji Trophy, propelling Railways to their second win of the season.

They defeated Goa by 63 runs, bowling out the visitors for 242 in the second innings.

This victory has propelled Railways to the fourth position on the points table, while Goa has slipped to the bottom.

GROUP D

Subhranshu Senapati’s valiant 67 went unrewarded as Deepak Dhapola claimed his 10th first-class fifer, dismissing Odisha for 214 in the run-chase and propelling Uttarakhand to a convincing 162-run victory.

This triumph marks their second win of the season, elevating them to the sixth position on the points table.

Despite Shashwat Rawat’s century, Kulwant Khejroliya’s maiden first-class fifer, which included a remarkable spell of four wickets in four balls, guided Madhya Pradesh to a comfortable victory by an innings and 52 runs against Baroda in Indore.

This win propelled the hosts to the top of the points table, while Baroda slipped to the second spot.

Himanshu Chauhan’s five-wicket haul proved instrumental as Delhi staged a comeback to secure a victory against Himachal in Dharamsala.

Despite Rishi Dhawan’s second half-century of the match, the hosts were dismissed for 250 in the run-chase.

This second win of the season has reignited Delhi’s campaign, pushing them to the fourth spot on the points table, while Himachal finds themselves at the bottom.
