With their second consecutive win, both achieved while batting first, Capitals surged to the top of the table, while Giants continued to await their first victory of the season.

Fielding errors allowed Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals to post 163/8, a target within reach but a daunting one for a winless side.

The Giants struggled to rotate the strike, resulting in their downfall, with Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav sharing six wickets between them.

Lanning Leads DC:

DC captain and opener Meg Lanning anchored the innings with a composed 55 off 41 balls, steering her team through the initial challenges.

Despite losing her wicket in the 13th over, DC remained comfortable at 105/3.

Cameos Lift DC:

After Lanning’s departure, Annabel Sutherland and Shikha Pandey contributed quick runs to push the score past 150, setting a challenging target for the Giants.

Fielding Woes for Giants:

Giants’ fielding lapses allowed Capitals to reach a competitive total.

Several dropped catches, including crucial ones of Lanning and Jonassen, proved costly for Mooney’s side.

Nervy Start for Giants:

Giants faced a tough start to the chase, slipping to 41/3 in the powerplay, losing key wickets early on to Jonassen’s bowling.

Gardner’s Effort in Vain:

Ashleigh Gardner’s valiant 40 off 31 raised hopes for Giants, but her dismissal in the 15th over dashed their chances.

Despite the introduction of Sayali Satghare as a concussion substitute, Giants couldn’t salvage the chase, extending their winless streak to four games.
