TATA IPL 2024: The KKR-RR game scheduled for April 17 may be subject to rescheduling.

The game might be postponed or relocated.

The Kolkata Knight Riders’ home fixture at the Eden Gardens on April 17 against the Rajasthan Royals is uncertain.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is contemplating either relocating the match or rescheduling it due to the Rama Navami festivities coinciding with the game day.

Given the nationwide celebration and security concerns, particularly amid ongoing general elections, ensuring adequate security for the IPL fixture is challenging.

The BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) are collaborating with the Kolkata police to assess the situation.

While a final decision is pending, discussions with the franchises and broadcasters have been initiated to apprise them of potential schedule changes.

The BCCI had meticulously structured the IPL schedule to adhere to the home-away format, refraining from relocating matches to the UAE to avoid election clashes.

However, adjustments may now be necessary.

An IPL official stated that discussions with police authorities are ongoing, with a decision expected soon.

Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders, having secured two victories in as many games, are in Visakhapatnam, preparing to face Delhi Capitals on April 3.

Similarly, the Rajasthan Royals, also boasting two wins, are in Mumbai to battle Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday night.
