T20 World Cup 2024: Bangladesh Secures Final Super 8 Spot Despite Spirited Effort from Nepal

Bangladesh overcame a spirited effort from Nepal to clinch the final Super 8 spot in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

While the spot seemed secure for Bangladesh coming into the game, a poor batting performance saw them bowled out for just 106, giving the Netherlands a glimmer of hope.

Concerns arose in the Bangladesh camp as the Dutch began their run chase against Sri Lanka in pursuit of 202, but Bangladesh’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance to secure the win.

Where Was the Game Won?

Tanzim Hasan Shakib’s remarkable figures of 4/7, including a record 21 dot balls, were pivotal.

However, Mustafizur Rahman’s two stunning overs at the death were crucial.

Conceding just 1 run in the 17th over and bowling a wicket-maiden in the 19th, Mustafizur crushed Nepal’s hopes.
