Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of further participation in the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury, as confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket on Sunday (March 17).

With the series currently tied 1-1, Madushanka’s absence will be felt in the final ODI scheduled for Monday in Chattogram.

The left-arm seamer bowled 6.4 overs in the second ODI before being forced to leave the field.

Sri Lanka Cricket stated, “Dilshan Madushanka will no longer be part of the ongoing tour as he will begin rehabilitation work following an injury sustained during the 2nd ODI.”

Madushanka suffered a left hamstring injury, as confirmed by an MRI scan.

While the duration of Madushanka’s recovery remains uncertain, he may miss the initial stages of the IPL, set to commence next week.

Mumbai Indians acquired Madushanka for INR 4.6 Cr in the auction after his stellar performances in the ODI World Cup last year, where he claimed 21 wickets in 9 matches.
