2nd Test Day-2 Highlights:

None of the Sri Lankan batters got century but however they managed to the score of 531 runs

Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten on 92 runs.

Sri Lanka scored 531/10 (1st Innings), where as Bangladesh scored 55/1 (1st Innings) at the stumps of Day-2.

So, finally Sri Lanka lead by 476 runs.

Half-centuries from Kamindu Mendis (92*) and Dhanajaya de Silva (70) inflicted more misery on the Bangladesh bowlers on the second day of the second Test in Chhattogram.

With six half-centurions in total, Sri Lanka posted 531 in their first innings before Bangladesh ended the day at 55 for 1.

This marked the highest innings total by a side without a centurion and tied for the second-highest number of half-centurions in an innings for Sri Lanka.

Starting the day at 314 for 4, overnight batsmen Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya extended their partnership by another 61 runs before Chandimal departed, having scored his half-century.

Apart from an occasional aggressive stroke from Dhanajaya, the pair mostly played conservatively, exploiting scoring opportunities.

Shakib Al Hasan managed to dismiss Chandimal shortly after an hour into the day’s play, but Dhananjaya continued to push on.

However, he fell victim to Khaled Ahmed’s delivery early in the second session, despite missed chances by the Bangladesh fielders.

Despite these setbacks, Sri Lanka’s batsmen persisted, with Jayasuriya receiving a lifeline before tea when he was dropped by Litton Das.

Kamindu, batting cautiously, was granted a reprieve later when his slog sweep was dropped.

He capitalized on this opportunity, adding more runs to his score.

Vishwa Fernando also contributed with some aggressive strokes before being run out.

With only the tailenders remaining, Kamindu shifted to an attacking stance, scoring boundaries and sixes.

Sri Lanka’s innings concluded with the run-out of their last batsman.

In response, Bangladesh began steadily, with Mahmudul Hasan and Zakir Hasan forming a 42-run opening partnership.

Despite a late wicket, Bangladesh managed to avoid further damage before stumps, with Zakir and Taijul seeing off the remaining overs of the day.
