England Women scored 163/6 in 20 overs, where as Pakistan Women scored 110 in 18.2 overs.

So, finally England Women beat Pakistan Women by 53 runs.

Waheeda Akhtar and Sadia Iqbal sent England into a tailspin at 11/4, but the hosts staged a middle-order revival before their bowlers sealed a commanding 53-run victory over Pakistan at Edgbaston.

Despite a shaky start, England’s leg-spinner Sarah Glenn and medium-pacer Lauren Bell combined to claim seven wickets, limiting Pakistan well below their target.

Maia Boucher, Danielle Wyatt, Alice Capsey, and Freya Kemp fell cheaply, but captain Heather Knight spearheaded the recovery with a brisk 49 off 44 balls, supported by Amy Jones in a crucial 67-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

However, Jones’s dismissal by Iqbal left England vulnerable, until Danielle Gibson’s aggressive 41 off 21 balls pushed them to a competitive total of 163/6 in 20 overs, with 77 runs coming in the last seven overs.

Pakistan’s chase began steadily but wickets fell at regular intervals, hindering their progress.

Despite Sadaf Shamas’s valiant effort, she lacked substantial partnerships to sustain the momentum.

Sarah Glenn’s crucial dismissals of Muneeba Ali and Nida Dar, along with Shamas’s run-out, kept Pakistan in check.

Glenn finished with impressive figures of 4 for 12 in 4 overs, including 12 dot balls.

Lauren Bell then wrapped up the chase in the 19th over with the wicket of Sadia Iqbal, ending with figures of 3 for 22.
