Pakistan scored 157 all out in 19.5 overs, where as England scored 158/3 in 15.3 overs.

So, finally England beat Pakistan by 7 wickets.

England secured a 2-0 series win over Pakistan, warming up for the T20 World Cup in style with a comfortable seven-wicket victory in the fourth T20I at The Oval in London.

Chasing a modest target of 159, openers Jos Buttler (39 off 21) and Phil Salt (45 off 24) got off to a flying start, adding 78 runs in the Power Play and contributing to an 82-run opening stand.

Haris Rauf provided a breakthrough by dismissing Salt, then went on to claim the wickets of Buttler and Will Jacks in successive overs during a fiery spell, but it wasn’t enough as England reached the target with 27 balls to spare, thanks to Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook’s unbeaten stand.

Bairstow hit a boundary and three sixes in his 16-ball 28, while Rauf, the only bowler to strike for Pakistan, finished with 3 for 38.

Ultimately, the loss was due to a lack of runs from Pakistan.

Put in to bat, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s quick 59-run opening stand showed promise, but after Babar was dismissed on the last ball of the Power Play, the score quickly deteriorated from 59/0 to 86/5, thanks to an Adil Rashid-inspired collapse on both sides of a brief rain break.

As Babar noted in the post-match presentation, Pakistan needed more runs from their middle order.

Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan all fell within nine deliveries, contributing little to the scoreboard.

Shadab and Azam both scored ducks.

Later, Usman Khan (38) and Iftikhar Ahmed (21) added 40 runs for the sixth wicket, setting up Pakistan for their total of 157 all out.

However, it was clear that the runs were insufficient.

England will be pleased with the performances of Jofra Archer, who played his first matches since March 2023, and Mark Wood (2/35), who played his first white-ball match for England since the ODI World Cup in India.

Rashid’s 2 for 27, including the key wickets of Rizwan and Shadab, earned him the Player of the Match award, but Liam Livingstone (2 for 17) also delivered impressive figures.
