Mushfiqur Rahim has been included in the 21-member Bangladesh Tigers Program.

Mushfiqur and 20 others will participate in rigorous training sessions at the camp.

Bangladesh’s experienced wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim is included in the 21-member squad for the Bangladesh Tigers Program, scheduled to start on May 26.

The camp will see 21 players undergo rigorous training and strategic planning sessions at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The camp will be conducted in phases across multiple venues, including Sylhet and Chittagong.

The squad, selected by the National Selection Panel, comprises a blend of seasoned veterans and promising talents.

The camp will serve as a vital platform for the players to fine-tune their techniques and mental fortitude ahead of upcoming challenges.

“Saifuddin is included in the Tigers program, and there were instructions that six players should be training with the white ball to keep them prepared for the ICC T20 World Cup if any replacements are required.

Yesterday, I received an email, and Saifuddin called to inform us that, for family reasons, his wife is expecting, and he will not be available for the camp until June 10 as he has requested leave.

We are preparing Khaled at the moment,” Ashraf told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.

BCB’s chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain said six cricketers will train with the white ball in the Tigers training camp as possible standbys for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“We did not know about his wife expecting a child earlier as he did not inform us.

Usually, if anyone is injured or unavailable, we are informed beforehand.

I believe if he had gone, he would have fulfilled national duty, and as this is a secondary program (Tigers), he requested leave,” he said.

“We have chosen six players for white-ball standby for the World Cup.

We have chosen Anamul Haque and also picked Sohan (Nurul Hasan) since Jaker has a problem.

We had kept Saifuddin, and now there is Khaled, while Saifuddin is expected to join in on June 10.

There is Emon (Parvez Hossain), Nasum Ahmed, and Mehedy Hasan.

Last night, Nasum informed us that he will not be available for the first four to five days as he is suffering from jaundice,” he added.
