On Day 2 of the match England’s spinners asserted dominance and firmly seizing control.

Shoaib Bashir claimed four wickets on Day 2 of the match.

INDIA 219/7 ON STUMPS OF DAY-2:

England’s spin duo of Shoaib Bashir and Tom Hartley wreaked havoc for India on the second day of the fourth Test in Ranchi, claiming six crucial wickets between them.

Despite India’s efforts, England’s positive start led by Ollie Robinson’s boundary blitz alongside Joe Root, who scored a century, propelled them to a respectable total of 353 after a shaky start.

Ravindra Jadeja’s swift dismissals of the tail-enders further bolstered England’s position.

However, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal shone brightly once more, displaying his prowess with the bat before witnessing a flurry of wickets fall from the other end.

Bashir’s pivotal contributions, including the dismissals of Shubman Gill and Jadeja, tilted the game in England’s favor.

As Jaiswal continued to accumulate runs, England maintained pressure on the Indian batting lineup, ultimately leading to Jaiswal’s departure after a commendable 73 runs.

With India facing a significant deficit and half their side back in the pavilion, the lower order faced an uphill task against England’s relentless bowling attack.

Despite some resistance from Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel, England maintained control, leaving India with a daunting challenge going into the third day of the match.
