Maia Bouchier has played the important role with 91 runs to secure a victory for England Women against New Zealand Women in the fourth T20I

Maia Bouchier’s stellar performance, scoring 91 runs, led England to a triumph in the fourth women’s T20 match against New Zealand at Basin Reserve.

England Women scored 177/3 in 20 overs, where as New Zealand Women scored 130/7 in 20 overs.

So, finally England Women beat New Zealand Women by 47 runs.

Despite battling injury, Maia Bouchier showcased her resilience by scoring an impressive 91 runs as England Women dominated New Zealand, securing a 47-run victory in the fourth T20I in Wellington and clinching the series.

Bouchier’s outstanding innings, comprising 91 runs off 56 balls and marking her second consecutive half-century, propelled England to a total of 177/3.

Subsequently, Charlie Dean’s exceptional bowling performance, claiming four wickets, restricted New Zealand to 130/7, solidifying England’s triumph.

England faced an early setback as Danni Wyatt, returning to the side after participating in the Women’s IPL, fell early.

However, Alice Capsey and Bouchier, despite Bouchier’s quad injury, formed a resilient partnership, accumulating 75 runs in 10 overs.

Captain Heather Knight remained unbeaten at 21, while Nat Sciver-Brunt contributed 29 not out.

Their explosive batting in the final 14 balls resulted in 35 runs, setting a formidable target for the hosts.

The task became even more formidable for the hosts as they faced it without their captain, Sophie Devine, who was injured in the field.

England capitalized on this, taking wickets at regular intervals.

Dean’s impressive bowling spell yielded four wickets for 26 runs, while Brooke Halliday was the top scorer for the hosts with just 25 runs.

“I truly relished my time out on the field.

It was gratifying to have the chance to step out and play with the intent and positivity that we constantly strive for,” Knight praised.

“Maia’s performance was exceptional.

She maintained a straightforward approach to her game, which was delightful to witness.

Ending with some momentum was also very satisfying.”

With this victory, England secures an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the five-match series, culminating in the final match in Wellington on Friday.
