Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is uncertain about his participation in the upcoming tour of India.

Bangladesh is slated to play two Tests and three T20Is against India from September 19 to October 12, following their tour of Pakistan in August.

The 37-year-old Shakib, who departed for the USA to play for the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket, expressed that he is focused only up to the Pakistan tour.

“I don’t have many plans.

There are two T20 tournaments ahead of me, one is MLC and the other is the Global T20 League in Canada, and let me see where I stand after playing these two tournaments,” Shakib told reporters before his departure.

Regarding the recent incident involving pace bowler Taskin Ahmed missing the team bus during the T20 World Cup Super-8 clash against India, Shakib mentioned that Taskin apologized to the team for the mishap.

Despite the incident, Shakib emphasized that such mistakes can happen unintentionally and were resolved within the team.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan expressed dissatisfaction with Bangladesh’s approach in the Super 8 game against Afghanistan, where they failed to push for qualification to the semifinals by not attempting to score 115 runs in 12.1 overs.

He criticized the team for defensive play when aggression was needed and indicated a need for a thorough review of the team’s strategy and performance.

Nazmul also discussed the future of senior players like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib, and Mahmudullah, hinting at plans for their proper farewell as they near the end of their careers.
