Australia Women scored 213/7 in 50 overs, where as Bangladesh Women scored 95 all out in 36 overs.

So, finally Australia Women beat Bangladesh Women by 118 runs.

Alana King and Annabel Sutherland guided Australia to a competitive total, setting the stage for a disciplined bowling effort that led to Bangladesh’s downfall in a commanding 118-run victory for Australia in the opening ODI of the three-match series.

Despite a slow start during their inaugural bilateral visit to Bangladesh, Australia found themselves at 48/4 in the 19th over, courtesy of two early wickets claimed by Sultana Khatun.

However, the hosts continued to chip away at regular intervals, thwarting any potential partnerships as Australia struggled to 146/7 by the 41st over.

It was then that King took charge, unleashing five sixes and a couple of boundaries in her quickfire 31-ball innings, contributing an unbeaten 46* in a crucial 67-run partnership with Sutherland, who notched up a half-century with 58* off 76 balls.

Their alliance propelled Australia to a respectable 213 runs by the end of their innings.

Bangladesh had shown promise at 70/2, but a sudden collapse saw them lose eight wickets for just 25 runs.

Three wickets fell to Gardner, two to Kim Garth, and three run-outs added to Bangladesh’s woes, resulting in a disappointing defeat as Australia clinched the two ICC Women’s ODI Championship points.
