The second session saw a flurry of runs, with Marsh and Carey dominating the bowling.

However, New Zealand’s debutant speedster, Ben Sears, broke the partnership by dismissing Marsh and Mitchell Starc in quick succession.

Despite the late wickets, Pat Cummins, Australia’s No.9 batsman, demonstrated his composure and experience.

With only two runs needed for victory, Carey fell just short of a century, but Cummins sealed the win with a boundary, sealing an outstanding chase for Australia.
