Alyssa Healy focuses on team combinations and acclimatization ahead of Bangladesh T20Is

Both teams will seek solutions to their combination queries ahead of the World Cup.

The Bangladesh and Australian women’s national cricket teams have kicked off their preparations for the upcoming three-match T20I series, set to take place at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium starting March 31.

With an eye on the Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled for September-October in Bangladesh, both sides are eager to experiment with team combinations.

Australian skipper Alyssa Healy emphasized the significance of the series, stating, “I think naturally it’s going to be a tight contest (T20I series) and a great opportunity for both teams to try a few different things and work out the makeup of their sides.”

She highlighted the importance of using these matches to fine-tune their lineup for the upcoming World Cup, stressing the need to adapt to the local conditions.

Healy further emphasized the importance of acclimatizing to the conditions they will encounter during the World Cup.

She stated, “Winning is important, but at the same time, three opportunities to completely get used to conditions here and try a few things… gives us a real advantage.”

While Australia focuses on finding the right combinations and adjusting to the conditions, Bangladesh aims to regain confidence following a disappointing ODI series.

Captain Nigar Sultana acknowledged the need to bounce back, stating, “We have to get back our confidence, and that is the major challenge.”

She emphasized the importance of formulating clear plans and roles for each player, especially with a home World Cup on the horizon.

Sultana expressed optimism about the team’s future, stating, “If we can move forward with a plan in place, it will be good for us.”

She highlighted the importance of players understanding their roles and responsibilities, believing that clarity in roles leads to better performances on the field.
