No matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium for the Sri Lanka Test series

The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, will not host any matches during the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, as announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Friday.

Earlier reports from Cricpulse indicated that the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium would not host any Test matches during the Sri Lanka series due to a scheduling clash with the women’s home series between Bangladesh and Australia.

Consequently, Mirpur was chosen as the venue for the Australia series.

This marks the first instance since the stadium’s inception in 2006 that a Test series in Bangladesh will be played without a single game being hosted at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Sri Lanka is set to arrive on March 1, coinciding with the final day of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.

The T20I series (first two night games and the last one day game) will take place in Sylhet on March 4th, 6th, and 9th, while the ODI series is scheduled for March 13th, 15th, and 18th.

The first two ODIs will be day-night matches, with the third being a day contest.

The two-match Test series, part of the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship cycle, will commence with the first Test in Sylhet on March 22-26, followed by the second Test scheduled between March 30 and April 3 in Chattogram.
