Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha, who has rejoined Bengal after two seasons with Tripura, shared his intentions to represent the state in all three formats during the upcoming domestic season.

“I am happy and excited to be back in Bengal.

I look forward to playing and giving my best for the state.

My current plan is to play in all three formats, though it will depend on how the season unfolds,” Saha stated during a press conference at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Monday (August 12).

Saha was accompanied by Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly and secretary Naresh Ojha.

“It is a matter of great joy to welcome Wriddhi back to Bengal.

He has contributed significantly to us in the past.

I believe his return will strengthen the team, and Bengal will aim for an improved performance in the upcoming season.

I wish Wriddhi the very best for the forthcoming season,” Ganguly said.

Saha further added, “Bengal now has a blend of youth and experience.

I hope this combination will help in building a strong team.

As a unit, we are focusing on the present task and preparing well for the season ahead.”

When questioned about his age and retirement, Saha responded, “Age is just a number for me.

As long as I remain motivated to play, I will continue.

I have no plans for retirement at the moment.

When the time comes, I will step away from all formats.”

On his role alongside promising young wicketkeeper-batsman Abishek Porel, who has already established himself in the team, Saha remarked, “I am committed to doing whatever is best for the team.

I will always be a team player and am ready to help in any way, including supporting the development of talented players like Abishek.”
