The mini-auction for the third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place in Bengaluru on December 15, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The auction will allow the five franchises to fill up to 19 available slots (14 Indian players and 5 overseas players) with a collective purse of INR 16.7 crore.
Each team has a budget of up to INR 15 crore and can have a squad of 18 players, with a maximum of six overseas players per squad.
After the retention process, Gujarat Giants have the highest remaining purse of INR 4.4 crore and four available slots to fill.
While the BCCI has not yet announced the official dates for the 22-match tournament, it is expected to take place between February and March.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the reigning champions.
