Deandra Dottin has been named in the West Indies squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, just a month after reversing her international retirement.
Dottin, who holds the record for the fastest century in women’s T20Is, had unexpectedly retired from international cricket in 2022, citing concerns about the team environment.
The squad, led by Hayley Matthews, features four changes from their recent 2-1 T20I series win in Sri Lanka in June.
In addition to Dottin, Ashmini Munisar, Mandy Mangru, and the uncapped Nerissa Crafton have been included.
Missing out from the World Cup squad are Cherry Ann-Fraser, Rashada Williams, Shabika Gajnabi, and Kate Wilmott, all of whom were part of the squad in Sri Lanka.

“We have a good blend of experience and youth,” said Kishore Shallow, the CWI president, after the squad announcement.
“We have some players who are just around 19 years old; I believe Zaida [James] is still a teenager, along with one or two other young players.
So, we’re really pleased with the balance.
“Additionally, I think all West Indians are excited to see Deandra Dottin back.
There has been a year of ongoing communication with Deandra, and I especially want to acknowledge Ann Browne-John’s role in those discussions.
Even when she wasn’t officially a selector, Ann was instrumental in Deandra coming out of retirement.”
The 2016 champions are placed in Group B of the tournament alongside Bangladesh, South Africa, England, and Scotland.
They will begin their campaign against South Africa on October 4 in Dubai.
