India Women's cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, practices at the NCA in Bengaluru ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, preparing with drills and skills sessions under the guidance of head coach Amol Muzumdar.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 : India Women to hold a 10-day camp at NCA in preparation for T20 World Cup

A full-strength squad, along with reserves, will gather in Bengaluru for the camp.

The India Women’s team will undergo a 10-day skills camp at the NCA in Bengaluru to prepare for next month’s T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Head coach Amol Muzumdar will oversee the camp, which begins on Tuesday (September 10).

A full-strength squad, along with reserves, will gather in Bengaluru on Monday, including wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and all-rounder Shreyanka Patil, who had been provisionally named in the 15-member World Cup squad, pending fitness clearance from the NCA.

According to Cricpulse, both Bhatia (knee injury) and Patil (finger fracture) have passed their respective fitness tests this week and received the necessary NOCs to participate in the camp.

Bhatia sustained a grade 1 PCL tear in her left knee during the first T20I of a five-match series against Bangladesh in March and has been undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA since.

Patil, on the other hand, fractured her left hand during India’s Asia Cup 2024 opener against Pakistan in July.

As part of their World Cup preparations, the team will also play a couple of intra-squad day matches, due to the unavailability of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Alur facility.

However, at the World Cup, the 2020 runners-up are set to play three of their four Group A games under lights, except for their match against Pakistan on October 6 in Dubai.

After the camp ends, the players will take a short four-day break before regrouping in Mumbai for their departure to the UAE on September 24.

India will play two official warm-up matches at the ICC Academy in Dubai—against West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her team will kick off their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4, with three of their four group games taking place in Dubai.

India will face defending champions Australia in Sharjah on October 13.
