Vishmi Gunaratne’s third T20I half-century propelled Sri Lanka to victory.

Bangladesh scored 111/8 in 20 overs, where as Sri Lanka scored 115/3 in 17.1 overs.

So, finally Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets.

Led by Vishmi Gunaratne’s third T20I half-century, Sri Lanka cruised to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Dambulla.

Sri Lanka successfully chased down the 112-run target with 17 balls to spare.

The Difference: Powerplay

Bangladesh struggled early in the contest, losing four wickets in the powerplay, which set them back significantly.

Despite a reasonable recovery in the middle overs and a late flourish, they were unable to post a competitive total.

In contrast, Sri Lanka, despite losing their captain during that period, made a steady start to what proved to be a modest target.

Powerplay: Prabodhani and Priyadharshini Rattle Top Order

Bangladesh began with a boundary from Dilare Akter, but Sri Lanka’s Udeshika Prabodhani and Inoshi Priyadharshini quickly took control, dismissing key batsmen and leaving Bangladesh struggling.

Ishma Tanjim and Rubya Haider both fell for ducks.

Middle Overs: Sultana’s Counterattack Steadies Bangladesh

Nigar Sultana counterattacked after the field restrictions were lifted, hitting a couple of boundaries off Achini Kulasuriya.

Shorna Akter and Nigar Sultana went on the offensive in the death overs.

Akter hit Kavisha Dilhari for three consecutive boundaries in the 18th over, while Sultana scored crucial boundaries in the final over to push Bangladesh past the 100-run mark.

Powerplay: Athapaththu Falls After Steady Start

Sri Lanka’s chase began slowly, but Chamari Athapaththu provided early acceleration with a six and a boundary.

However, she was dismissed in the final over of the powerplay, caught in the deep.

Middle Overs: Gunaratne and Samarawickrama Steady the Chase

Phase score – 62/1 (RR: 6.67; 7x4s, 1x6s)

Gunaratne and Harshitha Samarawickrama steadied the innings, adding 54 runs for the second wicket.

Gunaratne, after hitting her third T20I half-century, was dismissed by Nahida Akter.

She had been particularly aggressive against Sultana Khatun.

Death Overs: Samarawickrama’s Assault Secures Victory

Phase score – 28/1 in 2.1 overs (RR: 10.18; 4x4s, 0x6s)

With the target in sight, Samarawickrama accelerated the chase, hitting Shorna Akter for boundaries.

Although she was dismissed for 33, Kavisha Dilhari struck a decisive boundary to seal the win for Sri Lanka.
