Women’s Asia Cup 2024 : India have excluded Shabnam Shakil and Amanjot Kaur from the Asia Cup squad

No major changes have been made to India’s squad for the 2024 Asia Cup.

India haven’t sprung any major surprises in their 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup.

From the 17-member squad currently playing against South Africa, selectors have left out Amanjot Kaur and uncapped youngster Shabnam Shakil.

The rest of the members have been retained for the multi-team event scheduled to be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, this month.

Shabnam was a late addition to the India squads for the ongoing series to bolster the seam attack, whereas Amanjot has not played for India since her last appearance in January this year against Australia.

Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer, and Meghna Singh have been picked as the travelling reserves.

India, the defending champions, will open their campaign on July 19 against Pakistan before taking on UAE and Nepal on July 21 and 23.

The top two teams from this group will proceed to the semifinals.
