India crushed Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

Bangladesh scored 80/8 in 20 overs, where as India scored 83/0 in 11 overs.

So, finally India beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

A powerful bowling performance, led initially by Renuka Singh Thakur and completed by Radha Yadav, set up yet another appearance for India in the final of the Asia Cup as they defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

Renuka (3-10) and Radha (3-14) spearheaded India’s clinical display with the ball, restricting Bangladesh to 80/8.

India chased down the target in just 11 overs, with Mandhana even scoring a fifty during the small chase.

The Difference: India’s Bowling

At no stage did India allow Bangladesh’s batters to settle after they opted to bat.

Wickets fell in the powerplay, middle overs, and at the death, preventing Bangladesh from building any partnerships to reach a competitive total.

India also minimized boundary opportunities, causing a major drought for Bangladesh, which ultimately left their bowlers with nothing to defend as Mandhana and Shafali powered India into their ninth final in as many Women’s Asia Cup competitions (including ODIs).

BANGLADESH

Powerplay: Renuka Leaves Bangladesh in Early Trouble

Phase score – 25/3 [RR: 4.16, 4s/6s: 3/1]

Renuka bowled three overs in the powerplay, causing significant damage to Bangladesh’s batting by taking a wicket in each over.

After hitting a six over deep square leg, Dilara Akter got out attempting to repeat the shot.

Ishma Tanjim struck two fours off Pooja Vastrakar before edging Renuka to short third man.

Murshida Khatun, despite being dropped by Deepti Sharma, was caught in the deep attempting to pull Renuka.

Nigar Sultana hit a four off Tanuja Kanwar, but regular wickets early on prevented Bangladesh from capitalizing in the powerplay.

Middle Overs: Regular Wickets Leave Bangladesh Reeling

Phase score – 24/3 [RR: 2.66, 4s/6s: 0/0]

Renuka bowled the seventh over, finishing her spell with a maiden.

The Indian bowlers continued to keep it tight, restricting Bangladesh’s scoring opportunities.

Radha struck in the 10th over, bowling Rumana Ahmed, leaving Bangladesh at 32/4 at the halfway mark.

Soon after, Bangladesh was reduced to 44/6 as Rabeya Khan mistimed a pull to Vastrakar, and Ritu Moni was stumped off Deepti’s bowling.

Death Overs: Radha’s Strikes Restrict Bangladesh

Phase score – 31/2 [RR: 6.2, 4s/6s: 3/0]

Bangladesh finally crossed 50 in the 16th over.

A thick edge off Radha gave Shorna Akter a four in the 17th over, the first boundary for Bangladesh in 11.1 overs.

Deepti bowled an economical 18th over, conceding only 5 runs to finish with 1-14.

Shorna and Sultana managed a four each off Vastrakar, with 13 runs coming in the 19th over.

However, an excellent final over from Radha, who dismissed Sultana (32 off 51) and Nahida Akter, and finished with a double-wicket maiden, kept Bangladesh to a paltry total.

INDIA

Powerplay: Openers Power India’s Quick Start

Phase score – 46/0 [RR: 7.66, 4s/6s: 6/1]

In stark contrast to Bangladesh’s innings, India started briskly, scoring over 55 percent of the target within the powerplay.

Mandhana hit a four off Marufa Akter while Shafali got going with a boundary off Nahida.

Both batters struck a four each off Marufa in the third over before Mandhana hit the first six of the innings, pulling Jahanara Alam over deep backward square leg.

Mandhana then hit two fours off Nahida, and despite Jahanara conceding only 1 run in the sixth over, India had a profitable powerplay.

Middle Overs: Mandhana Finishes the Chase Early

Phase score – 37/0 [RR: 7.5, 4s/6s: 5/0]

After hitting a four off Jahanara in the 8th over, Mandhana was caught at backward point, but the bowler had overstepped.

She also struck a four off Rabeya Khan before Shafali got a reprieve.

The match ended in the 11th over when Mandhana hit three successive fours off Nahida, with the second boundary bringing up her 38-ball fifty.
