3rd ODI
Deepti Sharma’s all-round performance has lead the India team to a 3-0 series sweep

West Indies scored 162 all out in 38.5 overs, where as India scored 167/5 in 28.2 overs.
So, finally India beat West Indies by 5 wickets.
Deepti Sharma’s all-round brilliance (6 for 31 and 39), supported by Renuka Thakur’s 4 for 29, led India to a dominant five-wicket victory over the West Indies in the third and final ODI in Vadodara on Friday (December 27), securing a 3-0 series sweep.
Thakur provided early breakthroughs before Chinelle Henry’s fifty, and Deepti then dismantled the middle and lower order to claim her second career six-wicket haul.
Chasing West Indies’ total of 162, India lost a few early wickets but steady contributions from the middle order ensured they comfortably reached the target.
In the opening match of the series, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews made the surprising choice to bat first.
Thakur set the tone with twin wickets in her opening over, dismissing both West Indies openers without scoring.
Qiana Joseph gloved the first ball of the match, while Matthews was bowled out at the end of the over.
Deandra Dottin, also undone by an in-swinging delivery from Thakur, departed for just 5, leaving the visitors reeling at 9 for 3 after five overs.
Henry, given a life before scoring, shared a 91-run partnership with Shemaine Campbelle to steady the West Indies innings.
Initially cautious, the pair gradually found their rhythm against India’s inexperienced spinners, Priya Mishra and debutant Tanuja Kanwar.
Deepti was briefly targeted but responded with the key breakthrough, getting Campbelle caught at long-on while attempting a slog.
Zaida James was dismissed quickly, but Aaliyah Alleyne fought hard.
Henry reached a 62-ball fifty by the 28th over, but soon after, Deepti bowled her out.
From 141/5, the West Indies collapsed, losing their remaining five wickets for just 21 runs.
Deepti took four of those wickets, claiming her third career five-wicket haul with the dismissal of Afy Fletcher in a wicket-maiden 36th over.
She then claimed her sixth wicket in the next over, while Thakur wrapped up the innings by having Mandy Mangru caught at cover, leaving West Indies all out for 162 in 38.5 overs.
India’s chase was not without its challenges.
West Indies’ bowlers, particularly Dottin, caused early trouble, with Dottin sending down 17 dot balls in her first three overs.
Smriti Mandhana managed only a boundary early on before falling cheaply to Alleyne.
Harleen Deol was dismissed for a low score, leaving India at 73/4.
However, Harmanpreet Kaur countered with a brisk 22-ball 32, hitting five boundaries, before falling in quick succession with other wickets, bringing Deepti Sharma to the crease.
Deepti and Jemimah Rodrigues forged a steady 56-run partnership for the fifth wicket, playing sensibly with singles and twos.
Rodrigues departed for 29, but Richa Ghosh added a swift 23 not out from just 11 balls, including two consecutive sixes off Fletcher, guiding India to victory in just 28.2 overs.
