Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana has anchored the India’s commanding victory

India scored 195/4, where as West Indies scored 146/7.
So, finally India beat West Indies by 49 runs.
India began the T20I series against the West Indies with a dominant 49-run victory in the first match in Navi Mumbai.
Smriti Mandhana (54 off 33) and Jemimah Rodrigues (73 off 35) both scored half-centuries, helping India set a formidable total of 195/4.
Hayley Matthews admitted post-match that the total was “15-20 runs too many.”
Despite a strong fight from Deandra Dottin, who blasted 52 off 28 balls, the West Indies could only manage 146/7 in their chase.
Dottin’s 52, featuring 4 fours and 3 sixes, kept West Indies in the game.
She formed a 44-run partnership for the third wicket with Qiana Joseph (49 off 33).
Though India dropped two catches off Dottin, Titas Sadhu finally dismissed her with a catch at long-on.
After her departure, India tightened their grip with the spinners, sealing a relatively straightforward win.
Earlier, West Indies were sloppy in the field, dropping three catches.
A 50-run opening partnership between Uma Chetry and Mandhana set the tone, with Mandhana catching up to Chetry’s aggressive start, including a six off Dottin.
After Chetry was dismissed by Karishma Ramharack, Mandhana and Rodrigues combined for a rapid 81-run partnership in just 7.2 overs.
Rodrigues reached her 12th T20I fifty off just 28 balls.
Mandhana fell in the 14th over, but Richa Ghosh contributed a quickfire 20 off 14.
Rodrigues, meanwhile, continued her assault, adding 56 runs in the final five overs before being run out on the penultimate ball, completing her job for India.
