Amir Jangoo, who recently scored a century on his ODI debut against Bangladesh, has received his maiden Test call-up for the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan, the West Indies Cricket Board announced on Monday.

In addition, spinner Gudakesh Motie has been recalled to the squad for the final series of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

Pacer Shamar Joseph has been ruled out as he continues his rehabilitation from injury, while Alzarri Joseph is unavailable for selection.

The series is scheduled to begin on January 16, 2025, with both matches set to take place in Multan.

Speaking about the squad, head coach Andre Coley said, “For the Test series against Pakistan in January 2025, our focus is on building upon our successes and turning the lessons from 2024 into tangible results.

Motie returns to strengthen the spin attack, while Jangoo’s selection is based on his consistent performances across formats in regional cricket and his proven ability against spin bowling.”

The West Indies will also play a two-day warm-up match in Rawalpindi on January 11-12.
