Day-3 Afternoon Session Highlights:

The Mark Wood and Ben Stokes partnership has powered England to a 3-0 series sweep against West Indies

Stokes opened the innings and blasted an unbeaten fifty.

West Indies scored 282 (1st Innings) & 175 (2nd Innings), where as England scored 376 (1st Innings) & 87/0 (2nd Innings).

So, finally England beat West Indies by 10 wickets.

It was another early finish in the England-West Indies Test series as the hosts wrapped up the third Test at Edgbaston in under three days, securing a comprehensive 3-0 series victory.

A fightback led by fifties from Mikyle Louis and Kavem Hodge in the first session was curtailed by a fiery spell from Mark Wood early in the second session on Day 3, as the West Indies were bowled out for 175.

Louis and Hodge put up a strong resistance with a 72-run partnership, helping the visitors score 118 runs in 27 overs during the first session for the loss of three wickets.

However, Wood’s reverse swing proved too much for the West Indies after lunch, and they lost their last five wickets for just 19 runs.

Chasing just 82 to win, Ben Stokes, who opened the innings, smashed the fastest fifty in Test cricket by an England player—joint third fastest overall—as England reached the target in just 7.2 overs for a comfortable 10-wicket victory.

Stokes remained unbeaten on 57 off 28 balls, completing England’s clean sweep of the West Indies in a Test series for the fourth time, all at home.

Louis and Athanaze faced a challenging start to the day, with Shoaib Bashir and Wood testing their resolve.

Athanaze had a reprieve when Harry Brook missed a tough chance at third slip off Wood, but England eventually struck when Athanaze was trapped lbw by Bashir.

Hodge initially struggled but found his rhythm, and Louis played confidently, putting together a steady partnership that gave the West Indies a lead.

Louis reached his maiden fifty but was dismissed by Stokes.

Hodge also reached fifty before being dismissed by Wood, who then took four more wickets in quick succession to complete his fifth five-wicket haul in Tests.

Stokes and Ben Duckett launched an aggressive chase, with Stokes hitting nine fours in the first four overs and reaching his fifty off 24 balls.

Duckett also contributed with four fours in an over from Holder, bringing England within 10 runs of the target.

Stokes finished the game with a maximum off Kraigg Brathwaite.

Earlier in the Test, West Indies had shown promise with the bat, scoring 282 on the opening day with Atkinson claiming four wickets.

England, initially struggling at 54/5, turned things around with half-centuries from Joe Root, Stokes, Jamie Smith, and Chris Woakes, posting 376 in their first innings.

Despite a promising start, the West Indies could not maintain momentum and fell to a decisive defeat as Wood and Stokes led England’s dominance.
