Day-3 Afternoon Session Highlights:
Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope has started strong as England overcomes the deficit
At the Tea of Day-3:
England scored 416 (1st Innings) & 116/1 (2nd Innings), where as West Indies scored 457 (1st Innings).
So, finally England lead by 75 runs.
In a repeat of the first innings, England lost Zak Crawley early once more.
However, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope responded with a blistering century stand, overturning the first-innings deficit.
By Tea on the third day, England had extended their lead to 75 runs with nine wickets remaining.
After the West Indies completed their innings with a 41-run lead, Duckett began with a boundary but was involved in a mix-up that saw Jayden Seales deflect a delivery onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end, dismissing Crawley.
Pope quickly found his rhythm, hitting four boundaries in seven deliveries.
By the end of the seventh over, England had not only erased the deficit but also gained the lead.
Duckett, continuing to bat freely, and the West Indies faced another challenging spell in the field, reminiscent of the first innings.
Kevin Sinclair’s introduction did not yield success; the off-spinner was struck for three consecutive boundaries by Duckett, who reached his second fifty of the match.
With the pitch still favorable, England will aim to accumulate more runs in the final session.
