The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the dates for the 2025 IPL season, confirming the schedule for the next three seasons, along with player availability and updates on suspect bowling actions.

The IPL 2025 will be played from March 14 to May 25

The 2025 season will span from March 14 to May 25.

In an unprecedented move, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the dates for the next three IPL seasons.

Of immediate interest is the 2025 season, which is scheduled to take place from March 14 (Friday) to May 25 (Sunday).

The BCCI has also revealed the schedules for the following two seasons:

  • 2026: March 15 (Sunday) to May 31 (Sunday)
  • 2027: March 14 (Sunday) to May 30 (Sunday)

These dates were officially communicated to the franchises on Friday morning.

This early announcement of the league schedule represents a significant departure from previous years, where the BCCI and IPL officials typically waited until the last minute to confirm the dates.

The reason for this change is clear: the league now operates within a well-defined international window.

BCCI Confirms Archer’s Availability

Meanwhile, the BCCI has confirmed that Jofra Archer will be available for the full 2025 season.

The Barbados-born English fast bowler, considered a high-impact player, has made himself available for all three seasons of the current cycle.

While Archer did not comment when approached by Cricpulse, he is listed as Player #575.

According to the updated auction list, he will be part of Set No. 6, the first set for fast bowlers, with a base price of INR 2 Crore.

Alongside Archer, two other players have been added to the register: Saurabh Netravalkar (USA, Player No. 576) and Hardik Tamore (MCA, Player No. 577).

Deepak Hooda Among Suspect Bowlers

The BCCI has also released a list of bowlers who have either been banned for a suspect action or are under investigation.

Manish Pandey (KSCA, Player No. 157) and Shrijith Krishnan (KSCA, Player No. 281) have been banned from bowling, while Deepak Hooda, an off-spinner from Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), is on the suspect bowling list.

Other players under scrutiny include Saurabh Dubey (VCA, Player No. 344) and KC Cariappa (CAM, Player No. 381).
