Rain had the final say in the last league match of IPL 2024, with hosts Rajasthan Royals and league toppers KKR splitting a point each on Sunday night.
The rain arrived just ahead of the scheduled toss time and, roughly three hours later, abated only to give false hope to RR, who had a top-two finish at stake.
KKR won the toss and opted to field first in a seven-overs-a-side contest, but the rain returned, leading to abandonment.
As a consequence, SRH secured second spot with 17 points and a superior NRR to Rajasthan Royals.
They will now take on league leaders KKR in Qualifier 1 on May 21 in Ahmedabad.
RR, who finish third, will face a high-on-confidence RCB in the Eliminator in Ahmedabad on May 22.
