The same squad will also confront Pakistan in the four-match T20I series at home.
Archer, who last appeared for England during the Bangladesh tour last year, makes a comeback to fortify the squad after recovering from his persistent right elbow issue.
In preparation for this selection, the 29-year-old pacer participated in Sussex’s pre-season activities and also featured in some club cricket for Barbados.
Jordan last represented England in a T20I in September 2023 and does not hold an ECB central contract.
More recently, he has been showcasing his skills in the International League T20 and the Pakistan Super League.
Prior to that, he showcased his prowess for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League, where he slammed a 17-ball fifty.
Tom Hartley, the left-arm spinner who impressed during the Test tour of India, is the lone uncapped player in the squad, replacing Rehan Ahmed.
Hartley, alongside Will Jacks, is one of the few players in the squad without prior World Cup experience.
Jacks and Phil Salt, both in good form during the ongoing Indian Premier League, aim to maintain their momentum heading into the home series against Pakistan and subsequently the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States.
Also included in the squad is Harry Brook, who missed the winter in India due to his grandmother’s passing but has since been among the runs in county cricket since his return.
Chris Woakes and Dawid Malan miss out on the provisional squad selection, while Ben Stokes, who returned for the ODI World Cup, has opted not to be considered for this particular ICC event.
The first T20I against Pakistan is scheduled for May 22, with the eight squad members currently participating in the IPL expected to return for the start of the series, thus missing the IPL playoffs.
England, set to fly to the Caribbean on May 31, will kick off their World Cup journey against Scotland in Barbados on June 4.
