Dunith Wellalage has been left out of the squad for the New Zealand T20Is

Sri Lanka have left out spinning all-rounder Dunith Wellalage for the upcoming three-match T20I series in New Zealand, starting next week.
This is the only change from the squad that faced New Zealand at home in their previous bilateral assignment, which featured a 17-man squad.
For the return T20I series, Sri Lanka have named a 16-member touring party.
Charith Asalanka continues to lead the side, which maintains a good balance of pace and spin.
All-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe, who made his debut in the last series, retains his spot as the lone seam-bowling all-rounder.
It is likely that the competition for this spot, considering New Zealand’s conditions, led to Wellalage’s omission.
Wanindu Hasaranga, the prominent all-rounder in the squad, leads the spin department alongside Maheesh Theekshana and leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay.
Nuwan Thushara, Matheesha Pathirana, and Asitha Fernando head the pace attack, with tall left-arm pacer Binura Fernando serving as a backup option.
The first two T20Is of the series will be held on December 28 and 30 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, while the final match will take place at Saxton Oval in Nelson.
The T20Is will be followed by a three-match ODI series between the two teams.
