3rd T20I
Thushara’s five-wicket haul against Bangladesh has helped Sri Lanka team to secure T20I series victory.

Sri Lanka scored 174/7 in 20 overs, where as Bangladesh scored 146 in 19.4 overs.
So, finally Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 28 runs
Led by Kusal Mendis’s blistering 86 off 55 balls and Nuwan Thushara’s five-wicket haul, Sri Lanka secured a commanding 28-run victory over Bangladesh in Sylhet, clinching the three-match T20I series 2-1 on Saturday.
The Mendis Masterclass
Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka’s innings revolved around the dominating performance of Kusal Mendis, as other batsmen struggled to make an impact.
Despite early dismissals of Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis, and the departure of Wanindu Hasaranga, Mendis continued to single-handedly propel the scoreboard.
His aggressive stroke play included boundaries off Taskin and Mustafizur, followed by a flurry of sixes, showcasing his prowess.
Even after the fall of Hasaranga, Mendis persisted, dispatching bowlers around the park until his eventual dismissal while attempting a big shot.
Post-Mendis Era
Dasun Shanaka provided some late fireworks with boundaries and a six, but lacked substantial support from the other end.
Despite brief cameos from Sadeera Samarawickrama and Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka managed to post a challenging total of 174 for 7.
Bangladesh’s Struggle
Bangladesh’s chase faltered early as they lost half their side within the powerplay overs, courtesy of Thushara’s devastating spell.
Thushara’s hat-trick and subsequent dismissals left Bangladesh reeling at 25 for 5.
A Glimmer of Hope
Despite the early setbacks, a brief resurgence came from Roishad, who targeted the spinners with aggressive strokes, including consecutive sixes off Hasaranga.
However, Mahedi Hasan’s brief resistance was short-lived, as Sri Lanka’s bowlers continued to chip away at the wickets.
Rishad’s valiant effort, marked by explosive sixes, and Taskin’s late flurry provided some resistance, but it wasn’t enough to overhaul Sri Lanka’s total.
Bangladesh succumbed to 146 all out, conceding the series to Sri Lanka.
