The schedule for India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka has been revised, with the start of the series pushed back by a day to July 27, the BCCI announced on Saturday.
India will tour the island nation later this month for three T20 Internationals and three ODIs.
The first match, originally set for July 26, will now take place on July 27, followed by the remaining two T20 matches on July 28 and July 30, all to be held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The ODIs, initially scheduled to begin on August 1, will now start on August 2, with subsequent matches on August 4 and August 7, all hosted at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
This marks India’s first white-ball bilateral tour to Sri Lanka since 2021, when Rahul Dravid served as the stand-in coach and Shikhar Dhawan led a second-string side.
India won both the T20I and ODI series during that tour.
The squad for the upcoming tour has yet to be announced, but reports from PTI on July 8 indicate that senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to be rested.
India will also have a new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, while Sri Lanka has appointed Sanath Jayasuriya as the interim head coach.
