England’s Test captain Ben Stokes has been included in MI Cape Town’s squad for the SA20 2025.
Alongside Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, this will be Stokes’ first appearance for MI Cape Town in the event.
The duo will join pre-signed players Rashid Khan and Trent Boult, as well as Nuwan Thushara and Chris Benjamin, according to the franchise’s announcement.
Stokes is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained while playing in The Hundred but will make his return to an overseas league, having missed the IPL in 2023 and 2024 due to injury.
Thushara and Benjamin, who were part of MI Cape Town’s squad in the previous season, have been retained.
They will complement a strong domestic core led by Kagiso Rabada.
