South Africa took command with a 239-run lead, bolstered by strong performances from their bowlers and resilient batting from Aiden Markram (51), Kyle Verreynne (50*), and Wiaan Mulder (34*).

South Africa wasted no time building on their overnight momentum.

Four overs into Day 2, Kagiso Rabada claimed his first wicket of the game, dismissing Jomel Warrican, who was caught at mid-on.

Nandre Burger soon trapped Jayden Seales LBW for a duck, marking a weak response from West Indies.

However, Jason Holder fought back, reaching his fifty with a stylish six off Mulder, while Shamar Joseph hammered Burger for two boundaries and a six in a single over.

Joseph continued to find the boundary before being given out LBW after missing a slog-sweep, leaving South Africa with a narrow 16-run lead.

In South Africa’s second innings, Tony de Zorzi and Aiden Markram got off to a strong start, each driving through the covers for boundaries in the opening over.

Markram, in fine form, found the boundary with ease and pushed for quick runs.

The pitch had settled down, offering less lateral movement compared to Day 1.

After Lunch, Markram dominated Seales with three boundaries in one over.

The pair reached a fifty partnership within 10 overs, maintaining a healthy run rate of five per over.

Despite a solid start, De Zorzi edged one to the keeper, ending a promising opening partnership.

Markram was dropped on 42 by Alick Athanaze, adding to West Indies’ frustrations before Tea.

Markram reached his fifty with a nudge to deep backward point, marking his third half-century away from home.

However, he was soon trapped LBW by Gudakesh Motie.

Captain Temba Bavuma, after a streaky boundary off Motie, was also dismissed LBW.

The resilient Tristan Stubbs was caught behind off Seales, and with David Bedingham chopping onto his stumps for a 10-ball duck, South Africa collapsed from 120 for 1 to 140 for 5.

Verreynne and Mulder then steadied the ship, with Mulder quickly finding a boundary off a full toss and Verreynne narrowly avoiding chopping one onto the stumps.

The pair consolidated after the mini-collapse, regularly finding the boundary and rotating the strike to keep the scoreboard moving.

When Warrican was introduced in the 61st over, Verreynne immediately targeted him with a boundary down long-on.

Mulder survived a review after playing down the wrong line, and Verreynne played a delicate flick off the pads for four, while Mulder smashed Motie for six over long-off.

Verreynne brought up his fifty in the last over of the day with a single down the ground, and Mulder ended the day on a high note with a six, putting South Africa in a dominant position with an unbeaten 84-run partnership and a substantial lead.
