Day-4 Highlights:

South Africa has remained in control during the rain-affected Trinidad Test

Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj quickly wrapped up the West Indies’ innings on Day 4.

South Africa scored 357/10 (1st Innings) and 30/0 (2nd Innings), where as West Indies scored 233/10 (1st Innings).

So, finally South Africa lead by 154 runs.

South Africa tightened their grip on the Test match during a rain-affected Day 4 against the West Indies, where only 30 overs of play were possible.

Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj swiftly dismantled the remaining six wickets in just 24 overs, following the resistance shown by the West Indies batters on Day 3.

The West Indies, who were well-placed at 145/4, suffered a dramatic collapse, losing six wickets for 88 runs to be bowled out for 233.

Jomel Warrican’s 35 off 32 balls was the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing day for the hosts.

After significant rain delays, Jason Holder started aggressively, striking a four off the first ball through the covers off Aiden Markram.

Two overs later, he repeated the feat, this time lofting the ball over mid-off.

South Africa’s captain, Temba Bavuma, opted to start the day with spin, utilizing Markram and Maharaj.

The decision paid off as Markram bowled Holder, who misjudged the line.

Joshua da Silva, the new man in, fell three balls later, mistiming a shot to mid-on.

Kavem Hodge and Kemar Roach survived nervously at the crease, with South Africa missing some close chances.

After 16 overs of spin, Rabada returned and immediately made an impact, having Hodge caught at first slip, while Gudakesh Motie departed a couple of overs later.

Warrican opted for an aggressive approach, hitting a boundary off Rabada and then launching two sixes off Maharaj, attempting to shift the momentum in favor of his team.

However, wickets continued to tumble, with Roach trapped leg-before by Rabada, South Africa’s star pacer.

Jayden Seales and Warrican added a couple more boundaries before Seales attempted an ambitious drive, only to chop it onto his off-stump, ending the West Indies’ innings.

South Africa began their innings with a boundary as Roach bowled a loose delivery down the leg side.

Markram took control in the third over, hitting consecutive boundaries.

A square cut that raced to the fence forced Roach to overpitch the next delivery, which Markram drove elegantly through the covers.

Tony de Zorzi added a streaky boundary in the final over of the day off Seales.

Seales found the edge on the next ball, but Hodge spilled the regulation catch at slip.

Two deliveries later, Markram edged again, but this time it fell short of Holder at second slip.

South Africa ended the day unscathed after that eventful over.
