Day-3 Highlights:

Keshav Maharaj has kept South Africa team in control by claiming three wickets

Keshav Maharaj claimed three of the four West Indian wickets that fell on Day 3.

South Africa scored 357/10 in 117.4 overs (1st Innings) & West Indies scored 145/4 in 67 overs (1st Innings).

So, finally South Africa lead by 212 runs.

Keshav Maharaj (3 for 45) was the standout performer on Day 3, skillfully exploiting the conditions in Trinidad to keep the Test match evenly poised.

The West Indies quickly wrapped up South Africa’s innings before showing resilience on a slow pitch, which is expected to deteriorate further.

Keacy Carty (42) played positively, while Kraigg Brathwaite (35) and Mikyle Louis (35) demonstrated tenacity against the South African attack.

Frequent rain interruptions limited play to just 71.4 overs.

Kagiso Rabada began the day with two boundaries off Jayden Seales, but the West Indies continued where they left off on Day 2.

Rabada was dismissed by Jomel Warrican, caught behind after misjudging the turn.

Seales then removed Lungi Ngidi’s off-stump, and South Africa was bowled out for 357 in 117.4 overs.

Brathwaite and Louis took their time, capitalizing on any loose deliveries.

Maharaj, who came on after the drinks break, had an edge off Brathwaite dropped by Aiden Markram at first slip.

The openers soon brought up a 50-run stand.

Maharaj struck just before lunch, dismissing Louis with an arm-ball that went through the gate.

Rain just before the second session delayed play by 90 minutes.

Debutant Keacy Carty, along with Brathwaite, occupied the crease, with Brathwaite hitting Maharaj for a six and Carty scoring a boundary off him.

Despite West Indies scoring at only 2 runs per over, Carty survived a run-out chance and a challenging catch by Tristan Stubbs.

Brathwaite, who had batted diligently, was dismissed just before Tea for failing to slide his bat in time.

Carty continued to play aggressively, pulling Ngidi for four immediately after the break.

Maharaj soon struck again, trapping Carty leg-before with an arm ball, dismissing him eight runs short of a half-century.

Temba Bavuma then turned to Markram, who nearly had success, but Kyle Verreyenne couldn’t hold onto an edge off Kavem Hodge.

Maharaj maintained his exceptional form, creating doubt in Alick Athanaze’s mind by varying his deliveries.

Athanaze was eventually dismissed, with his edge caught by Markram at slip.

Jason Holder and Hodge saw out the remainder of the day, leaving the West Indies trailing by 212 runs at stumps.
