Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out of the last two ODIs against Pakistan

South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan at home due to injury.
Maharaj, who was named in the XI for the series opener on December 17, sustained an injury while warming up and did not feature in the game.
Subsequent scans revealed a left abductor strain, which has ruled him out of the second and third ODIs on December 19 and 22.
South Africa has named Bjorn Fortuin as his replacement for these matches.
This comes just a day after South Africa included Maharaj in their Test squad for the two upcoming home games, crucial for their pursuit of a spot in next year’s World Test Championship final.
South Africa currently leads the 2023-25 cycle with a PCT of 63.330.
A Cricket South Africa (CSA) release confirmed that Maharaj will return to Durban for rehabilitation and will be reassessed ahead of the first Test starting December 26 in Centurion.
