Sophia Dunkley has rejoined the England squad for the New Zealand ODIs
England have included Sophia Dunkley in the 14-player squad announced on Friday (June 14) for the three-match home ODI series against New Zealand.
The 25-year-old batter is the only addition to the squad that recently played against Pakistan.
Dunkley, who last featured for England in April 2024 on the tour to New Zealand, earned her way back into the team with strong performances in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, where she amassed 293 runs in five innings this season.
Despite an impressive start to her international career, Dunkley’s form had tapered off.
In 32 ODIs, she has scored 770 runs at an average of 27.50, including one century and five half-centuries.
Speaking on her inclusion, head coach Jon Lewis said, “We have named the same squad that finished the recent series against Pakistan.
I felt we played some solid 50-over cricket in that series and have had excellent results over the past 18 months.
“We welcome Sophia Dunkley back into the squad at the end of the Pakistan series as her performances in the domestic game have been outstanding, and she has earned her place in this squad through her performance.”
