In the 1st ODI at the Riverside Stadium, Chester-le-Street, England Women’s opening batters Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier then forged a dominant 137-run partnership to secure a comfortable victory.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, England’s Sophie Ecclestone struck early by dismissing key batters Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine.
Dean later cleaned up the middle order and tail, ensuring New Zealand’s innings concluded at 156 runs.
