1st Test
Day-5 Morning Session Highlights:
Prabath Jayasuriya has lead Sri Lanka team to a 1-0 series advantage

Sri Lanka scored 305 (1st Innings) & 309 (2nd Innings), where as New Zealand scored 340 (1st Innings) & 211 (2nd Innings).
So, finally Sri Lanka won by 63 runs.
It took just 22 balls on Monday morning for Sri Lanka to conclude the first Test against New Zealand in Galle, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
Prabath Jayasuriya claimed the final two wickets of New Zealand’s innings, bowling them out for 211 and securing a fifer that led the hosts to a 63-run victory.
The final day’s play was delicately balanced, with New Zealand requiring 68 runs to win on a deteriorating pitch and only two wickets remaining.
However, Rachin Ravindra had navigated the challenging conditions expertly on the previous day, finishing unbeaten on 91, giving the visitors some hope of a fightback.
Unfortunately for New Zealand, that hope was quickly extinguished in the second over of the morning as Jayasuriya trapped the left-handed batsman on the back leg with a delivery that pitched on leg stump and straightened.
A review failed to save Ravindra.
Jayasuriya nearly claimed William O’Rourke’s wicket a couple of balls later, but this time the review did not favor Sri Lanka.
Nevertheless, O’Rourke’s resistance was short-lived.
Just two overs later, Jayasuriya outsmarted him, edging a delivery to conclude the contest.
