At The Lunch of Day-2:

India scored 107/7 (1st Innings), where as New Zealand scored 259 (1st Innings).

So, finally India trail by 152 runs.

Mitchell Santner spearheaded the rout as New Zealand shocked a formidable Indian batting lineup on the second day in Pune, seizing complete control of the second Test.

Although the pitch posed challenges, India would lament some ill-advised shots, losing six wickets in the session and slipping to 107 for 7 at lunch.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal started positively, hitting several boundaries.

However, against the run of play, Gill was trapped leg before wicket by Santner, igniting a collapse.

Virat Kohli was left stunned as he completely missed a low full toss from Santner, losing his wicket and shocking the Pune crowd.

Rishabh Pant began well, finding the boundary off his second ball, but Jaiswal soon followed him back to the pavilion after edging one to slip.

From that point, each delivery became an event due to the turn and bounce available.

However, it was a low delivery from Glenn Phillips that claimed Pant, as a half-tracker skidded through to shatter the stumps.

India’s lengthy batting order did little to alleviate their struggles, with wickets continuing to fall.

Sarfaraz Khan miscued a shot off Santner, who then quickly removed R Ashwin.

Washington Sundar narrowly avoided an lbw shout just minutes before lunch and, alongside Ravindra Jadeja, now faces a crucial rebuilding task with India still trailing by 152 runs.
