World Cup-winning fast bowler Munaf Patel has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Delhi Capitals, the franchise confirmed on Tuesday (November 12).
Munaf will join the revamped support staff, which is headed by Venugopal Rao, the Director of Cricket, and Hemang Badani, the head coach.
Earlier this year, the franchise parted ways with long-serving head coach Ricky Ponting, and the new coaching duo of Rao and Badani has since been tasked with assembling the rest of the support staff.
Munaf takes over the bowling coach role previously held by James Hopes.
In addition to his experience representing India in all three formats, Munaf brings valuable IPL experience, having played 63 matches for Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions.
During his IPL career, he claimed 74 wickets at an economy rate of 7.51, with his last appearance in the tournament coming in 2017.
