LA Knight Riders scored 168/5 in 20 overs, where as Seattle Orcas scored 169/1 in 19.5 overs.
So, finally Seattle Orcas beat LA Knight Riders by nine wickets.
Seattle Orcas secured their first win of MLC 2024 in emphatic fashion, defeating the Los Angeles Knight Riders by nine wickets at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
The pivotal moment in Seattle’s dominant performance came with the inspired decision to include Ryan Rickelton, who blasted a maiden T20 century off just 66 balls, finishing unbeaten on 103*.
Rickelton’s partnership of 152 runs with compatriot Quinton de Kock (51*) effortlessly chased down LAKR’s total of 168.
Seattle initially lost opener Nauman Anwar early but Rickelton and de Kock took charge with precision.
Rickelton’s aggressive start in the Power Play saw him reach 35 off 23 balls.
Despite de Kock’s slower start, Rickelton’s aggressive stroke play, including three boundaries off one Andre Russell over and consecutive sixes off Shakib Al Hasan, kept Seattle on track.
De Kock accelerated later in the innings, complementing Rickelton’s assault as they maintained the required rate.
Rickelton’s momentum continued as he reached his century in the 16th over with applause from the dugout, shortly followed by de Kock’s fifty.
Seattle secured victory with runs scored on the penultimate ball, improving their Net Run Rate marginally.
Earlier, the Knight Riders posted a competitive 168, led by Jason Roy’s 69 off 52 balls, supported by David Miller’s late blitz (44* off 22).
However, Seattle’s disciplined bowling, including contributions from Zaman Khan, Harmeet Singh, Cameron Gannon, and Imad Wasim, restricted LAKR’s scoring despite Miller’s efforts.
Overall, Seattle’s clinical performance highlighted their potential in MLC 2024, setting a strong precedent for the matches to come.
